I recently ordered a TrueRNG, and anxiously await arrival.

I see from the contents of the udev rules that the usb VID is 0x04d8 (Microchip Technologies) and that the PID is 0xf5fe (unassigned). Is there a possibility of a future conflict with the PID, or has it been registered with Microchip, but not yet been published?

    Thank you,
    Pablo

The USB PID we use for TrueRNG was officially sub-licensed to us via Microchip, which they provide as a service since we use a Microchip microcontroller in the TrueRNG. We have not added our PID to the linux repository for usb.ids however (which I believe is where the name matching comes from in Linux). But there should be no fear of PID conflict.

Muchas gracias! That’s what I’d hoped. I can hardly wait for my purchase to ship!
